Patience

Last Tuesday the word on the street was another day of gray skies and deep pow.  As we drove up the canyon it was becoming clear that it wasn’t a gray day and that the sun had decided to come out and play. We quickly changed plans and headed for a zone where we could ski short but sweet lines in the sun. As we hiked up it kept getting cloudier and cloudier and by the time the boys were about to get on top of their lines the skies turned full milk. Since flat light does not make for great skiing or filming we decided to push on and head to some trees that we thought would still have the deep goodness.

Paul Kimbrough deep in the trees.

Andy Jacobsen getting in on the fun.

After a couple laps the sun decided to pop out periodically. We tested our patience waiting for the right moment to drop when things lit up.

Paul getting some light and faceshots.

Jake Sakson in a powder explosion.

Andy's head.

Jake enjoying the day.

Paul making the snow do some crazy things.

Paul and his heavenly contrail.

Jake skiing in the clouds.

Paul making the wait for light worth it.

The waiting game isn’t always fun, but sometimes it is worth it.
